確實，台灣應努力與中國打交道，然而，不知道是因為馬英九當選時中國釋出的曖昧善意，還是在西藏議題上難得一見的、對中國的一致性敵意，最近有許多評論，似乎都對台灣與中國的關係樂觀起來了？以下第一篇的論調，彷彿中國很怕其他人知道其對台灣的打壓似的，以下第二篇，也暗示著近期國際對中國的批評有可能造成實際的影響，然而，真的有那麼簡單嗎？或者更精確一點，我們能期待比過去幾年更有契機的兩岸發展環境嗎？對此，我個人還真的相當存疑。
該擔心的是胡錦濤／蘋論
副總統當選人蕭萬長參加博鰲論壇，有些人擔心中國趁機矮化台灣，種種憂慮無論出於什麼動機，都值得馬蕭參考，畢竟中共的確有玩小動作的前科，防人之心不可無，但硬要把蕭萬長參加博鰲論壇扯上賣台，某些人的被出賣妄想症卻也未免太嚴重，按照他們的邏輯，兩岸只好老死不相往來。
改善氣氛第一步
其實在博鰲論壇這樣的場合，北京所承受的壓力要比台灣大得多，任何刻意矮化台灣的言行，只會讓中國大欺小的醜態，暴露在國際注視目光下，不但無聊幼稚，使台灣獲得更多同情，還會澆熄台灣人民對兩岸關係的期望，形同替聲名狼藉的陳水扁路線平反，也等於打了馬英九一記大耳光。
馬蕭還來不及上任，國民黨的溫和兩岸政策就已經破產。難道這是胡錦濤所想要見到的局面？
對北京當局而言，口頭上吃蕭萬長豆腐，絲毫無法改變台海現狀，只會讓情勢更棘手，有賠沒賺；對台灣來說，蕭參加博鰲論壇雖不能使兩岸矛盾立即消失，卻是改善氣氛的第一步，有賺沒賠。如今雙方都伸出了手，就要掌握機會，相互理解彼此處境，維護對方尊嚴，這條路才走得下去。
在這方面，大概沒有人會懷疑台灣新政府的善意，博鰲論壇上要接受考驗的，不是台灣，而是中國，可能被矮化的，不會是台灣的地位，而是北京的大國形象。此刻，該緊張的理應是胡錦濤，怎麼會是馬蕭或是台灣人民？

抗議的火炬／江春男
北京奧運聖火在世界各大城市受到激烈的抗議，往後還有一百多天，這場火炬必將成為抗議中國的火把，原本以為可以宣揚國威，結果卻突顯中國的陰暗面。
羞辱德國，引來敵對
北京奧運以「One World, One Dream」的普世價值作號召，想不到葉公好龍，自食其果。幸好聖火不來台灣，否則狀況百出，馬英九必定窮於應付。
中國把奧運當作五千年歷史的夢想，這種提法讓普通老百姓血壓升高。中國希望說服少數民族放棄自己的民族主義，共同加入中國的大家庭，現在就不好意思以民族主義為武器來反抗西方。光靠中國外交部發言人幾句乾巴巴的話和網友亂罵人的話，是爭取不了國際同情的。
去年，法國總統訪中國，拿走幾千億買賣，順便講了一些好話，中共媒體便大作文章，以為中國贏得西方尊敬，而且利用機會把曾經見過達賴的德國總理羞辱一番。這一次，法德兩國對達賴和西藏採取一致立場，中國啞巴吃黃連，苦在心頭。
武力鎮壓，傷害形象
舉辦奧運，不僅把世界拉到中國來，也把中國拉到世界上。中國對西藏的武力鎮壓和新聞封鎖，這次暴露無遺，對中國形象造成很大傷害。但如中共有勇氣面對自己，不要老羞成怒，這些抗議活動未嘗不是改變中國人思想行為的好機會。
讓他們知道，國家再大，如果缺人權自由，永遠不可能贏得真正尊敬。光有經濟力和軍事力，也不可能成為真正大國。那些外國政客的捧場話，千萬認真不得。

兵者，詭道也。敵人，並不都是用來消滅的，在不確定的時代，敵人永遠值得人信
賴，而想要利用敵人使自己受惠，就必須學會握刀時手不握刀刃。
這點，準副總統蕭萬長先生，向來出色。
老國民黨時代沉潛，透過民進黨政治酬庸，歷經兩黨洗禮翻覆，如今，扛著王姓自家
人經貿版圖的野心，躍到中國經濟舞台上了，當然，他老人家苦心經營多年，功不可
沒，要喜歡他很容易，真的很容易。
聰明且身段柔軟的人，一直是我欣羨的人物。
